The forensic, circumstantial, and logical evidence of overwhelming fraud in the 2022 midterm election is being covered wonderfully by writers such as
and . To me, the notion that Pennsylvania swing voters reeling from three years of COVID tyranny would (by almost 20%), choose a brain-damaged troglodyte over a celebrity doctor running on a moderate GOP platform is so absurd that any further discussion is almost irrelevant.Instead, I'd like to suggest that part of what the media is trumpeting as the public's widespread support for the Democrat party has more to do with demographics and group polarization than national sentiment.
In fact, I propose that there is no such thing as national sentiment anymore.
Where’d Everyone Go?
Do you remember hearing about the mass exodus from lockdown states?
Many of the articles about net domestic migration conveyed these results the same way the graphic above does: as percentages. It paints a clear enough picture, but it’s not quite the same as having raw numbers. The US Census Bureau has the data, but they don’t make it easy to find. Nonetheless, what they do share is illuminating. Consider the following table:
The Midwest and West are a mixed bag, with prison states right next to free states. If we have to look at it regionally (and I’m going to keep digging to find the individual state data, so stay tuned), the best we can do is Northeast vs. South.
The Census Bureau tells us that, between 2019 and 2021, they recorded 704,804 people moving out of the Northeast and 1,161,184 people moving into the South. Moreover, between 2020 and 2021, the West as a region went from having a small inflow (19K people) to having a huge outflow (144K). In fact, from 2020 to 2021, the only region that gained people was the South.
Reader, we’ve had a cool million people move into the South over the past two years.
You know what a million people is? A lot of voters.
In other words, a non-trivial number of people who probably would have voted for a red wave in the Northeast didn’t show up to the polls because they’d already moved to the South.
Does that explain how an absurdly improbable number of Democrat candidates won their race with 54% of the vote? No. But it does show which way the wind is blowing.
Wind and Water
Water needs surface area to form a wave. A pond can be shallow, but it has plenty of surface area, so it can form waves. But the same volume of water can also be inside a well. Not as much surface area as a pond, but much deeper. And no waves.
That’s what’s happening in the South.
The mainstream media knows that people are moving for political reasons. NPR calls it “The Big Sort.” However, they’ve been pretending it goes both ways: that lots of smart, progressive people are moving their families into blue states in order to escape red-state fascism, while perhaps a few ignorant Trump fanatics are moving to red states in hopes of making the Handmaid’s Tale come true.
That couldn’t be farther from the truth. The Census Bureau’s numbers prove it. Whatever number of people are moving into blue states, a million more are moving out, and going straight to the South.
This means two things:
The South is rapidly building a deep and highly motivated population of people that are strongly committed to living in freedom.
The Northeast is rapidly descending into authoritarianism because that’s what most of the remaining population wants.
The United States used to be a mighty lake. Election cycles were waves rolling back and forth across the nation. No more. The water is draining into two deep wells, and the area between them is so shallow you can see the bottom.
It is heartbreaking, but there are still many people who wish to be free that are living in prison states. For now, they’re floating at the top of the water in the well. It might be uncomfortable, but they can still breathe.
Maybe they have family or professional obligations that make it difficult or impossible to leave. Or, like many of the Jews in Nazi Germany, they love where they live and are simply waiting for things to go back to normal.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but time is running out.
This election was your final warning. Things are never going back to normal. The water is going to get deeper, and the ladder is going to be raised out of your reach. Do whatever you have to, but get out while you can, and move to the South.
Come on in, y’all. The water’s fine.
Interesting stats and does indicate some influence for sure. I know if I were American I absolutely would be moving to a free state. Canada is similar. The prairie provinces have traditionally been defiant to federal overreach. With immigration that has changed things quite a bit.
Excellent analogy with the pond, well, and the depth. I share the same concerns and know that MANY people have moved to Texas from blue states. It’s almost a steady stream of transplants. A lot of those who cross my path are conservatives who were fed up with what their home states are becoming. But maybe that’s just because of the circles I run in (filled with majority conservatives). I have heard stories about some moving here from blue states to escape the rapidly rising cost of living in blue states, but they hold fast to their very liberal ideologies. I want to point out to these people that if they continue to vote « progressive » they will end up living in the same hell they ran from in the first place. Just makes me shake my head.
